Trying to put on eyeshadow or mascara and having to deal with a sagging eyebrow is enough to make you want to run for the hills. However, as a natural part of aging, your skin will start to lose elasticity and you will notice that areas — including your eyebrows — will start to hang a bit lower than normal. Luckily, with a surgical procedure called a browpexy, or brow lift, Dr. Derek Steinbacher can surgically lift and remove excess skin around your eyebrows, leaving you with a more taut looking appearance. If you are considering getting a brow lift, or if you already have your appointment scheduled, we have created a few tips that you can use to help enhance your eyebrows afterward. Read on to learn more.
Now that you have had a brow lift, help to enhance them even more by filling them in. As one of the latest trends in cosmetics, full eyebrows are all the rage. To fill in your eyebrows, purchase either a gel, powder, or pencil in a shade that is one shade darker than your natural eyebrows. When filling them in, start filling them in from the inner crease of your eye and work your way outward. To get a more natural looking eyebrow, try looking for a product that has a pomade in it, or if you are using a pencil, use a light hand so that it isn’t drawn on too thick.
Another fast and easy tip that you can use for your eyebrows is to use a light colored concealer under and over your brows to help them pop. Because your skin naturally turns a bit red after you wake up, covering it up with a concealer will help the skin around your eyebrows look more smooth and even. When choosing a concealer, look for a shade that is one shade lighter than your natural skin tone and blend it with a foundation or a powder.
If you have just gotten a brow lift, help to accentuate your results by using the two tips listed above. To learn more or to schedule an appointment with Dr. Derek Steinbacher, contact our office today!
