There are some things that you can do to age a bit more gracefully like using good skin care products, avoiding the sun, and investing in skin care treatments. But no matter how hard you try to avoid aging, sooner or later it will catch up to you and often in the form of having excess skin on your face and neck. And although you can use fillers to help lift and tighten your face, your neck is a little different. With a surgical neck lift from Dr. Derek Steinbacher, however, he can lift and tighten the skin around the neck and give you back a more youthful appearance.
Just like with any surgical procedure, recovery is often the hardest part. Luckily, we have created a list of three tips to help speed up your recovery.
If you are the type of person who always has to be busy, then this step might be difficult for you, but it’s necessary. For at least a week or two after your neck lift, make sure that you are taking it easy — that means staying in bed, getting a lot of rest, and not doing any strenuous activities. This also is the perfect excuse to get your friends and family to dote on you.
Make sure that when you’re sleeping during the night and resting during the day that you keep your head propped up and elevated — this will help get rid of any excess swelling or post-op fluid.
Although infection is rare, it’s still good to be mindful of signs of infection. If you experience intense pain that doesn’t go away, an increase in swelling, bruising, discoloration, or puss at the incision site, then you may have an infection. Make sure that as soon as you notice any of these signs of infection that you call our office right away. Remember that the sooner we treat an infection, the easier it is to recover.
Getting a neck lift is a great way to help give you a more youthful appearance. To learn more about this procedure or to schedule a consultation, contact our office today and call us at: (203) 453-6635.
